Program Speaker:  Linda Larsen of Linda Larsen Communications, Inc. (shown on right). Program was "Dare to Soar."  This is one of Linda’s most requested keynote presentations.  Audience members listen and laugh as Linda shares stories and strategies designed to help them fly with their ideas and soar to new levels of joy, passion and fun.  People leave with a clear sense of how they can rise above anything that life throws in their path.

Aj Jemison is a wonderful example of a woman who has climbed up through the ranks of corporate America in one of its most demanding industries. She is a successful business woman, an author, a speaker, a trainer, a teacher, a community volunteer, and a mother. Our recipient has continuously given her time and talent to the community and charitable organizations in whatever geographic location her career has taken her. Her lists of volunteer activities include Hillsborough Commission on the Status of Women, on the Boards of the Children’s Home, Girl Scouts of Suncoast Council, Lowry Park Zoo, WEDU, HARC, Florida State Fair Authority, Tampa Organization of Black Affairs, and the Tampa Bay Convention & Visitors Bureau. She has received the Minority Business Person of the Year Award from the Tampa Bay Business Journal and the Woman of the Year Dress for Success Award. Our recipient has achieved remarkable success in an industry that is not known for fostering diversity at top levels of management. She began her career in real estate as a sales administrative assistant and moved on to property management, to her present position as General Manager of the International Mall. In addition to her demanding job and numerous civic and charitable activities, our recipient is also a sought after motivational speaker. She recently spoke at the “Inspiring Women’s Success Conference” commenting on the question “Is There a Glass Ceiling?” She was the featured speaker at the Accelerated Networking Dinner with a speech entitled “Women NETworking to Catch the Big Fish.,” A real plus is that our recipient does not limit her speaking engagements to high powered professional seminars. She has a commitment to children and has spent many hours in the classrooms of Hillsborough County public schools motivating children. And just when you think she has done it all, she continues to astound. Last year she published a book of her own inspirational stories entitled “Just Aj! Simply stated.” The book is a compilation of the childhood memories that she manages to weave into her inspirational speeches.
