Louise Thompson
2006 Executive Woman of the Year (EWOTY) Award Recipient! |

Tampa-based Network of
Executive Women announced the recipient of its 2006 Executive Woman
of the Year Award at a luncheon attended by about 180 people at the
Centre Club. Chosen by a panel of independent judges was Louise M.
Thompson.
Executive Director of the non-profit that manages cable television
public access channels 19 and 20, Thompson is responsible for a $1.2
million budget, production facilities and equipment, outreach
activities and the politics involved in keeping the first amendment
alive on Hillsborough County cable television. She hosts a weekly
talk show where community, women's and minority issues are
addressed. |

Thompson has also run an award-winning marketing and public
relations firm for 20 years and been employed by Fortune 1000
companies. She founded/co-founded six networking organizations and
actively served 24 non-profits including Athena Society, Center for
Women, Children's Home, Children's Museum of Tampa, Greater Tampa
Chamber of Commerce Board of Governors, Human Rights Task Force,
Lifepath Hospice, Network of Executive Women, National Conference,
Northside Mental Health, Museum of Science & Industry, Project Link,
Tampa Crossroads, University of Tampa, Zonta International, etc.
A finalist for Tampa Bay Business Journal's Woman of the Year Award,
she received "Italian-American Woman in Business" and BPW "Woman of
the Year" awards and was named "Best of the Bay" four times by The
Weekly Planet. Tampa Bay Life Magazine named her "One of the Bay
Area's 50 Most Influential Women."
Thompson co-authored "Power Networking" and wrote the controversial,
best-selling "No Girls Allowed," which listed members of
organizations that discriminated against women.

Program: "Getting Here and Being
Here"
Pat Bean became the County Administrator in December 2003.
Previously, she served as Deputy County Administrator for 12 years.
Her 27 years of experience in Hillsborough County government
includes 12 years heading up the county's human services, including
health care, children's issues and programs for the elderly.

The County Administrator's span of responsibility includes a wide
variety of county services, from Aging Services to Zoning, and
involves an organizational structure of more than 5,200 employees. |
